We had Goat curry bowl, Pepper chicken and Masala Dosa. We also ordered some appam. Everything was so good and flavorful. Especially the dessert was amazing. Also they offered us an extra appam, even though we didn’t order. The staffs were friendly. I would love the place to become a little bigger though. Overall we enjoyed the foods and recommend this place.

Being from Chennai, I have high expectations of any Indian restaurant’s authenticity and unique taste they may have. Vanakkam PDX has both of these factors! I have also brought my in-laws who are American and they have liked it so much that they went back there by themselves a couple of times. Most recently, we went to their 1-year anniversary special buffet of the restaurant and the hostess was great at getting us a table among the big crowd of other diners and helping us celebrate a special occasion that we were there for, with a free sweet treat at the end!

We catered food for a party of 30. The Food was very tasty and liked by all our guests. Saag paneer was very tasty and authentic. Fried okra curry was very good. Apart from this, the service was exceptional. We got help loading the food on to the car. Chafing dishes with burners were provided to keep the food warm. The whole experience was effortless. The food quantities was more than sufficient. Guests helped themselves with to-go boxes. Highlight was the Rabadi Gulabjamoon. This is the pick among our guests. Nothing left over after the meal. This is Vanamkam's specialty dessert. Thanks a lot Vanakam PDX.

Went to have the weekday buffet lunch - all you can eat. Restaurant was pretty full. Dishes were really well prepared and delicious. Service was good as well. They had dosa, goat biriyani, goat curry, sambar ,rasam, mushroom masala and more. It is really worthy at 13.99 for veg or non veg lunch buffet.

I love going here for the lunch buffet. There are many options to try/binge on (roughly 12). I really enjoy Indian food but don't know much about it so being able to try a little bit of new dishes and then going back for more if I really like it is so enjoyable. I also appreciate that it is affordable. The decor is basic but that doesn't matter to me. They are also changing out some of the items that are in the buffet. I just had a sweet dish that had a base of lentils and it was amazing. It seems they rarely make it. I try to eat here at least once a month as I don't get much time to eat out but this is top of my list. Delicious Indian food but also delicious food overall.

My husband and I were a bit surprised that it was more of a quick service place, when we were hoping for something more formal, but we were so glad we stayed. The food was absolutely lovely. I think it would help them if they had written descriptions of the different combos because we really had no clue what we were ordering. Maybe a more comprehensive menu. It was definitely an adventure though and the service was excellent.
